With over 2,000 hours of sun every year, Kelowna boasts one of the longest and driest golf seasons in the country. Several of the tee boxes of the more than 17 golf courses offer incredible views of the lake, vineyards and orchards, making a round of golf incredibly picturesque. Courses range from easy-going to ego-shattering: there is something in Kelowna for every skill level. Numerous clubhouses offer après golf dining experiences that range from casual to gourmet andseveral have been listed among the Top 100 in Canada.

Some practical points:

The golf season runs from approximately March to November
Tee times should be booked in advance, especially in July and August.
Remember that summer can be hot in the valley, so book an early tee off if possible.

Some courses have a dress code, so be sure to keep that in mind. For evening golf, consider Orchard Greens, the only golf course to flood light the course for the evening. This creates a new dimension to the game and allows you to beat the heat of the day. A combination of par 3’s, 4’s and a monster 553 yard par 5 9th hole – Orchard Greens has one of the most dramatic par 5’s in the valley with the elevated tee box providing a breathtaking view.

Or try Michaelbrook Ranch Golf Club, an 18 hole mid-length, BCGA rated executive par 63 golf course. Located behind the H2O centre in the Mission area of Kelowna, there is a restaurant on site, the Brookside Grill, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The club exudes a relaxed atmosphere with a focus on fun, entertainment and great dining.
